Hello All,
Danvers American Little League (DALL) will be hosting a Pitch, Hit and Run competition sponsored by Major League Baseball (MLB). The event will take place at Plains Park on Saturday May 18th at 9:30 AM. It is free to register and winners from each age group will proceed to a sectional on 5/26 at a location to be determined. The winners from each sectional will advance to compete at Fenway Park in late May/Early June. If we are lucky enough to have someone from DALL win at Fenway, they would advance to the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game this July which is being hosted by the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH.
DAY OF EVENT INFORMATION:
We ask players to meet by the little league batting cages at plains park by 9:30 am to sign in. Players are encouraged to warm up somewhere at the ball park, please no swinging bats near the meeting area.
Players will run, throw and hit at 3 stations. Players will start at one station, once they finish they proceed to the 2nd station and proceed to the final station. Some kids will only take a few minutes, others will take longer but believe it will take under an hour. Players cannot do the stations out of order.
Players will throw at a target (5 pitches) and receive a score,
Players will then hit 5 balls off a tee and will be scored on the distance and how straight they hit the ball
Players will be timed on a run from second to home.
We will be utilizing Memorial Field and Brown 2 for this event. Please bring your bat, helmet and water - a glove isn't required but you can use one when you throw. We will take players up until 10:15. Please let us know if you will be late so we can wait!
