The Spring Season

The spring season is considered the regular season for little leagues across the country. For us and most northern states, the season begins in mid to late April and ends in mid June. The spring season includes our annual parade, picnic and playoffs for the AA AAA and Major divisions. 

Key information for the 2020 evaluations:

12s do not need to attend evaluations. There are no evaluations for ages 4-7.

2020 Spring Season

Registration for the Danvers American 2020 spring season is now open. If you have any special requests or concerns about the programs available to you, please contact us as soon as possible at [email protected] In some cases, you will not see a program available if your child played an extra year a previous division. If this is the case, please register in the division available and email us so we can update the system. If tee-ball, please contact us before registering.

2020 Registration Pricing:

Tee ball is $75
Farm – Majors is $150

Registration fees include jersey and hat.

There is a family max of $300 (does not include the winter training sessions). We accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards (no AMEX) and checks. Anyone using the check option must submit their payment to the league mail P.O. Box by January 31st or face additional fees. Please note: fees may apply to those who register after the fall registration period ends (Late January 2020).

Divisions and payment information:

Tee-Ball: Available to little league age 4-6, though we encourage 6 year olds to play in farm. This is a one day commitment per-week with a combined practice and game on Saturday mornings. A group practice is held before playing a game, tees are used and the emphasis is on developing basic throwing, catching and hitting skills. The cost of the division is $75.

If you are interested coaching tee-ball, please let us know by filling out the volunteer section. Practice plans will be provided and little to no experience is required. 

Farm: This is a machine/coach pitch division for 6 year olds. This is available for players who have played a year of tee-ball and wish to continue to develop their skill-set, or believe they are ready for machine pitching. Please reach out to us if you are unsure which division is best for your son or daughter. This is a two day a week commitment with a week-day practice and a game on Saturdays. Division cost is $150.

If you are interested coaching in the farm division, please let us know by filling out the volunteer section. Practice plans will be provided and at this level, experience isn't essential. 

Minors - A, AA, AAA:
There is only one option to register for minor divisions. Players who are little league age 7-11 may play in the minor division. Players who are little league age 8+ must attend an evaluation in Feb 2020 or they will not be eligible move into a higher division, if desired. Players are placed in the appropriate division based on their little league age regardless of an evaluation. We strongly encourage all players between 8-11 to attend the scheduled evaluations   
Division cost is $150

A Division: Players are typically little league age 7-8 and are introduced to player pitch and additional baseball rules. This is a non-competitive division and there are no standings or playoffs. The emphasis is still on developing fundamentals and learning the game of baseball. Time commitment is 2-3 days a week, game late Saturday mornings and weekday practices. 

AA Division: Players are typically little league age 8-9 and are introduced to umpires, standings and a playoff in AA. Players continue to develop basic skills while being introduced to steals, passed balls and an elevated level of competition. Time commitment is roughly 3-4 days a week and inter-league play is introduced. Games on Saturday, typically early afternoon, some weekday games and practices at the discretion of the managers. 

AAA Division: Players are typically little league age 9-11 in AAA. This division is developmental division with a higher level of competition with a time commitment of 4-5 days a week. 2-3 games per week including Saturdays. 

$150 division cost 

Majors: Majors is typically players who are little league age 10-12. 12 year old players are automatically placed in Majors, 11s and 10s must attend evaluations in order to be placed in majors if they have not already played in majors.

If you have option to register for Minors and Majors, please register for the division your child is seeking to play in and respond to the appropriate question in the questions section that they are seeking to draft into the majors division

Time commitment is 5+ days a week with 2-3 games plus practices. 

Division cost is $150

Dates: The 2020 season is set to begin in late April and run through mid-June 2020. The annual parade is typically the last weekend in April, though subject to change.

Volunteers: If you are interested in managing or being an assistant coach for a team, please fill out the appropriate options and we will reach out to you. Coaching plans will be provided to coaches and training will be provided. 

You will be required to attend a safety meeting and coaching session prior to the season. You must also pass a background check per little league baseball and the state of Massachusetts.

Your child’s safety is a top concern of ours and we want to make sure they are placed in the appropriate division so they are able to learn, have fun and play safe.

Little League Age Determination

Your child's Age is determined by your son or daughter's "little league age," essentially, which ever age they are by August 31st of a given year, they defined as that age in the little league. (please visit to learn more). Example, a child is turning 6 in August, even though they play the spring season at the age of 5, they are considered a 6 in the eyes of the little league.
