The Tigers keep their season alive by beating the Red Sox Friday night on Brown 1 with a score of 9-2. Brendan Mackey pitched a strong 5 2/3's innings giving up only 3 hits. Zach Noring pitched strong in relief. The bats were alive for the Tigers with hits from Zach Noring & Nate Tarricone, a double from Adam Poirier, a single & double from Matt Kidney, 2 singles & a double from Corey Gagne and 3 singles and the Tigers 1st HR from Brendan Mackey. Solid fielding from Sam Perel, Mike DiSciullo, Nate Tarricone, Zach Noring & Brendan Mackey. Eric Larsen & Scott Marino pitched well in defeat.
Solid hits for the Red Sox from Trevor Daly, Ryan Buchanan, Eric Larsen & Matt Dunphy.

The Tigers keep their season alive by beating the Indians Wednesday night on Brown 1 with a score of 4-3. Corey Gagne pitched 4 strong innings for the Tigers with 4 K's and only giving up 1 hit to the Indians Charlie McCarthy. Mike DiSciullo and Zach Noring pitched strong in relief. Solid hits from Mike DiSciullo a double & a triple, Brendan Mackey a single & a double, and singles from Zach Noring, Nate Tarricone and Chris Behen. In the bottom of the 6th with the Tigers up 3-0. Mark MaCarthy hits a 3 run HR to tie the game 3 all. In the top of the 7th Zach Noring hits a single and Matt Kidney reaches on a fielders choice. Kidney steals second and advances to third on an over throw. Chris Behen hits a single and brings in the winning RBI. Great defensive plays by Mike DiSciullo at short and Nate Tarricone at first keep the Tigers on top in the bottom of the 7th. It was a great game on both sides of the ball. Congrats Tigers and good luck against the Red Sox.

Playoff game: Chris Butler 5 2/3 and Nick Rainoff complete game,dueled the entire game. Milne entered for the final out of the game. Both teams played extremely well defensively. Several fine playes by both teams. Angels threw out two runners at home plate to preserve the shut-out, 1 in first inning, and the second to end the game. Butler, Taylor, Veatch (2), Koen and Milne all hit safely for Angels. Koen's timely hit knocked in both runs. Marino, Etherington (2), McCannon, Flynn and Leohner hit safely for the Red Sox.

The Indians improved their record to 14-3-1 with today's win over the Orioles. It's always a great game whenever the Tribe and O's get together and today's game was no exception. On the hill for the Tribe were: Mark McCarthy (starter), Bailey Klein (set-up man) and Jake Runnals (closer) - all three were excellent. Hitting safely for the Tribe were: Ryan Kelleher (single), Mark McCarthy (2-doubles), Jake Runnals (double), Charlie McCarthy (double) and T.J. Deinstadt (single). Hitting safely for the Orioles were: Tom Higgins (single), Dylan Dodge (double), and Jay Calcagno (single).

Congrats to the Tigers for winning their last game of the regular season against the Red Sox Saturday night on Brown 1. Five Tigers took to the mound, Nate Tarricone, Chris Behen, Matt Kidney, Luke Mistretta & Zach Noring each provided strong pitching for the Tigers. As the night started to get cool the Tigers bats started to get hot with hits from Mike DiSciullo, Zach Noring, Matt Kidney & Adam Poirier. 2 singles from Brendan Mackey, a double from Sam Perel and a triple from Chris Behen. Solid fielding by all kept the Tigers on top. Congrats to Eric Larsen for his 2 run HR in the top of the 6th. Great game on both sides of the ball. Good luck in the playoffs!

H. Costa and Rybicki pitched for their teams. Koen finished game for Angels. Indians built a 7 run lead, and a big 8 run bottom 4 gave the Angels the runs they needed. The Indians' bats came alive Wednesday night at Brown 1 in a 12-5 win over the Tigers. Ryan Kelleher (starter) and Nick Marraffa (closer) pitched well for the Tribe. Offensively, every member of the Tribe made it safely on base. Mark McCarthy blasted a two-run homer in the fifth, bringing home brother Chuck McCarthy, who had doubled. Nick Andreas went 3-for-3, with a double and two singles. Marraffa, James English and Bailey Kline also had good nights at the plate, each with a double and single. Ryan Kelleher tripled, and Jake Runnals and Adam Huetlinger each batted singles. Brendan Mackey had a great night at the plate for the Tigers, going 4-for-4 with a double and three singles. The Tribe's Jake Runnals earned the game ball with his spectacular defensive play of the game. With bases loaded in the fifth and the Red Sox making a comeback, Runnals made a leaping grab of a line drive at second base. TJ Deinstadt then made the third out of the inning when he caught a high fly ball to centerfield. The win improves the Tribe's record to 13-3-1.

The Tigers beat the A's in the heat on Memorial Tuesday night with a 2 RBI single from Matt Kidney in the bottom of the 5th to put the Tigers on top.
Solid pitching for the Tigers from Nate Tarricone, Luke Mistretta, Matt Kidney and Corey Gagne. Defensive fielding for the Tigers from Mike DiSciullo & Chris Behen at second, Zach Noring & Mike DiSciullo at short, Matt Kidney catching, Corey Gagne at center, Brendan Mackey & Nate Tarricone at first. The bats continue to be alive for the Tigers with hits from Gagne(1), Porier(1), Kidney(1),Tarricone(1), Mackey(1), Perel(1), Behen(2), DiSciullo(2), Noring(3). Great game by all for surviving another over 90 degree night on the ball field.

The Tigers ended their losing streak Sunday night by beating the Orioles 19-10 on a steamy Memorial Field.
Strong pitching by Mike DiSciullo, Luke Mistretta, Chris Behen and Sam Perel. The bats where alive for the Tigers with multiple hits from Nate Tarricone, Chris Behen, Lucas Lentine, Sam Perel, Zach Noring(single & a double) and Mike DiSciullo(double). Brendan Mackey & Luke Mistretta both with 2 singles & a double. Solid fielding by DiSciullo, Noring, Mackey, Lentine, Matt Kidney, Tarricone, and Christian Goudreau kept the Tigers on top. Contrats to the Orioles Dylan Dodge who hit 2 HR and is now at 14 HR's so far this season breaking Scott Hovey's record of 13 HR's last season. Solid hits for the Orioles from Higgins, Soucey and Calcagno (double). Congrats to all the ball players it was a very hot night!

The Mets came from behind in dramatic fashion with four runs in the bottom of the fifth to beat the Indians 4-3. The big blow was a three-run homer by JT Bisazza. Kevin Hodgkins then singled and came around on some heads up baserunning to score the eventual game winner. Sean Lundergan also chipped in with two hits and Chris Shalkoski and Aidan Moulton were strong in the field defensively. For the Indians, Nick Andreas pitched an excellent game through four innings. Offensively for the Tribe, Mark McCarthy hit a double and a single; Andreas and Matt Rybicki hit singles; Bailey Kline had a double and a single; TJ Deinstadt had a single; and Nick Marraffa hit a double.

Game Comments: Mark "The Natural" McCarthy led the Indians to a 5-1 win over the Red Sox on June 7 at Memorial Field. McCarthy pitched a complete game, giving up only one hit. He had six strikeouts and threw four 1-2-3 innings. Eric Larson got the lone hit for the Red Sox, a nice double into left. McCarthy also went 2 for 3 at the plate, with a double and a single. Also hitting safely for the Tribe were Nick Andreas (double), Ryan Kelleher (single), Charlie McCarthy (single), and Jake Runnals (single).

The Orioles defeated the A's behind another great pitching performance from Richie Martino. Martino worked hard in the heat pitching a complete game striking out 9 and allowing just 3 runs. The A's Joe Stone also worked hard and was also lights out striking out 9 through 4 innings. The O's played solid defense and received a big hit from Jason Trefry to drive in the go ahead runs. Martino and Chris Weimert also hit safely for the O's. The A's received hits from Ryan Chasse, Ryan Cassidy, Joe Jones, Lucas Lentine(2), and Hayden Graham.

The Indians beat the Angels on Memorial Field by a score of 6-2. On the mound throughout the entire game for the Tribe was Ryan Kelleher. Kelleher's pitching was outstanding as he struck out nine and allowed only three hits in six innings. Hitting safely for the Tribe were Mark McCarthy, Nick Marraffa, Matt Rybicki, T.J. Deinstadt, and Baily Klein. In the third inning, Deinstadt bunted perfectly and ran out the throw for a single. Jarrod Costa pitched well for the Angels and was able to strike out seven Indians. He also batted a solid double. Overall, the Tribe and Angels played a great game. Tonight's win over the Angels improves the Tribe's record to 11-2-1.

Pitching,defense,and timely hitting by the Red Sox led them to a 3-0 win over the Tigers. Mark Etherington pitched a complete game allowing two hits. Several Sox players made good defensive plays highlighted by Ryan Buchanan at third, and Trevor Daly singled in two runs in the fourth inning to break a 0-0 game. Also hitting safely for the Sox were Scott Marino,Mark Etherington,Tim Loehner,and Zach Daly. Brendan Mackey pitched very well in defeat. Sam Perel and Zach Noring hit safely for the Tigers.

Both teams short handed due to concert at HRMS. Alex Taylor and Josh Koen pitched well for the Angels. On Sunday, June 1, 2008, the Indians and Orioles played an outstanding game of Little League baseball on Memorial Field. The Orioles took an early lead when they scored nine runs in the first three innings. The Indians were slow to respond, scoring only three runs in two innings. But in the third, the Tribe came alive when Nick Andreas smacked a double and Mark McCarthy followed with a homerun shot over the left-field fence. These two hits provided the spark that ignited the Tribe to score two more runs in the third inning, bringing the score to 9-7. In the fourth inning, Bailey Klein (relieving for Mark McCarthy) retired the side with great pitch control and an occasional tricky knuckleball. In the forth and fifth innings, the Tribe scored four more runs bringing their total to 11. In the sixth, the Orioles were able to score one run for a final of 11-10. In the sixth, the Orioles were threatening to tie the game with Frankie Soucy on third with two outs. Klein, cool on the mound, demonstrated his ability to pitch in clutch situations when he struck out the Orioles' batter for the third and final out of the game. Offensive standouts for the Tribe were Nick Andreas and Mark McCarthy. Andreas smacked 1 single, 1 double, and 1 triple. Mark McCarthy smacked his second homerun and a single. Also hitting safely were Matt Rybicki and Nick Marraffa. Frankie Soucy led the offense for the Orioles with three singles, and Richie Martino also hit well. Overall, the entire Tribe played great team baseball, never giving up and always swinging the bats. Tonight's win improves the Tribe's record to 10-2-1.

The Red Sox scored 5 in the first and never looked back to go on to defeat the Angels 16-4. Nick Rainoff pitched 5+ strong innings. The Red Sox defeated the A's 6-5 in a well played game by both teams. Ryan Buchanan pitched the first four for the Sox with Mike Rayos the final two. The Sox offense was led by Eric larsen 2-3 with 3 rbi and Trevor Daly 1-2 with 3 rbi. Also hitting for the Sox were Scott Marino,Nick Rainoff,and Tim Loehner. Kieran Beck and Alec Littlefield pitched well in defeat. The A's offense was led by Kieran Beck 3-4. Also hitting for the A's were Joe Jones, Jonathan Davis,Matt Alexander, John Thomas, Ryan Chasse, and Cameron Brett. Matt Alexander, for the A's, turned in a nice defensive play with a double play and Zach Daly, for the Sox, threw out a player at the plate.

Well played game by both teams.
Took a while to get the field playable, but once started game completed in 65 minutes. Butler and Soucy both pitched well for their teams, and Jon Milne closed the 6th inning for the Angels. For the Angels Chris Butler and Jared Costa both had two hits for the Angels, Koen and Veatch had one hit a piece. For the Orioles, Dodge hit a 2 run HR. Dodge and Dan Rizzo had 2 hits; Martino, Matt Rizzo, Higgins, Soucy each had 1 hit

The Orioles and Indians both played an excellent game which ended in a tie after 7 innings. Hits were hard to come by due to the superb pitching by the O's Richie Martino and the Indian's Nick Andreas. Martino had 9 K's allowing just 3 hits through 5 innings and Andreas had 11 K's allowing just 1 hit through 5 innings. Indian's led 2-1 when Nick Hernandez hit a solo shot off the scoreboard to tie it at 2-2. The Indians scored 3 in the top of the 6th on hits by Mark McCarthy and TJ Deinstadt. The O's scored 3 in the bottom of the 6th to tie it highlighted by a two run triple by Dan Rizzo and a huge RBI single from Frank Soucy with two outs. The O's Dylan Dodge and Jay Calcagno also hit safely. The Indian's Ryan Kelleher and Nick Andreas(2) also hit safely.

The Angels and Athletics played a great game Wednesday night. The A's were lead by Matt Alexanders double in the first inning with bases loaded scoring 3 runs. Joe Stone pitched 4 strong innings and had 9 strike outs. Kieren Beck pitched great for the last 2 innings. Jared Costa and Johnathan Milne pitched well for the Angels. Alex Taylor had a double and a single.

Matt Dunphy drove home Matt Flynn with the winning run in the top of the seventh to lead the Red Sox past the Angels 6-5 in extra innings. Eric Larsen and Scott Marino pitched well for the Sox. Alex Taylor and David Hurley were equally impressive for the Angels. Hitting for the Sox were Tim Loehner,Nick Rainoff,Eric Larsen,Trevor Daly,Matt Flynn,Mike Rayos,and Matt Dunphy. Hitting for the Angels were Chris Butler,David Hurley,Jared Costa,Alex Taylor,Nick Caldarone,and Cody Allen. The defensive play of the game was turned in by Hunter Costa, a diving catch robbing a Sox player of extra bases.

On Monday, May 26, 2008 (Memorial Day), the Indians beat the Red Sox 8-2. Mark McCarthy was excellent on the mound for the Tribe, pitching all six innings. In the second, fourth and fifth innings, McCarthy threw only nine pitches in each inning. In the forth inning, the Tribe trailed the Red Sox by a score of 2-1 when Mark McCarthy put his team on top 3-2 by smashing a booming 2-run homerun over the Memorial Field scoreboard. In the sixth-inning, the Tribe came alive offensively when Ryan Kelleher, Bailey Klein, Patrick Hogan, Mathew Rybicki, Nick Andreas and Charlie McCarthy all hit safely. Rybicki and Andreas smacked back-to-back triples, Charlie McCarthy batted a triple, while Kelleher, Klein, and Hogan each batted singles. The Tribe produced 5 runs in the sixth inning, bringing the score to 8-2. Tim Loehner (single), Eric Larsen (double)), and Mark Etherington (single) each hit safely for the Red Sox, and Nick Rainoff did a nice job on the mound as the Sox starter.

The A's played a great game against the Indians Friday night. Kieren Beck pitched 4 2/3 solid innings and Joe Stone came in and finished the game. Beck and Stone hit back to back home in the first inning. Ryan Kelleher pitched well for the Indians.

The Orioles prevailed over the Red Sox in a tight, well played game by both teams. Dylan Dodge hit his tenth homer. Frank Soucy had another strong pitching performance followed by an excellent effort by Rich Martino in relief. The Oriole's Zak Damaa made a couple of outstanding catches in right field. The game was tied 5-5 going into the sixth when Zach Daly hit a single to start a 3 run rally for the Sox. Trevor Daly hit a triple to give the Sox the 8-5 lead going into the bottom of the sixth. The O's started the come back with a double by Rich Martino followed by a couple of walks and a bases loaded single by Jay Calcagno. Calcagno also had a double in the first inning. The Sox Ryan Buchanan, Eric Larsen(2), Nick Rainoff, Scott Marino(2) and Matt Flynn(2) also hit safely.

The Cubs Mike Baldini had 5 solid innings of pitching which kept the Cubs on top. Cub homeruns from Alan P. & two from Joe M. Solid pitching for the Tigers from Corey Gagne, Matt Kidney, Chris Behen and Nate Tarricone in defeat. Nice plays in the field from Zach Noring, Matt Kidney, Mike DiSciullo, Sam Perel, Christian Goudreau and Corey Gagne.

David Hurley and Alex Taylor both pitched well for the Angels. Tyler Dustin pitched well for the Phillies. Both teams played solid baseball. Tommy Higgins had a huge night to lead the Orioles to a victory over the Reds. Tommy pitched 4 outstanding innings allowing only 1 hit and 2 runs. He also had 2 doubles and 5 RBI. Rich Martino came on in relief and closed the door on the Reds by striking out the side in the sixth inning. Rich Martino, Matt Rizzo, Dylan Dodge, Nick Hernandez and Jason Trefry also hit safely. The Reds Tom Quinn and Alex Vacilou hit safely.

The Red Sox scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally to defeat the A'S 9-8. Ryan Buchanan's sacfly completed the comeback. Scott Marino pitched 3 strong innings in relief. Hitiing for the Sox were Tim Loehner,Trevor Daly,Ryan Buchanan, Mike Rayos, and Zach Daly. Matt Alexander pitched well for the A's. Their offense was led by Kieran Beck with a homerun.

The Indians won their third game in a row on Monday afternoon (May 19, 2008) against a very tough Angels team. Mark McCarthy was excellent on the hill for the Indians and was supported by excellent outfield play by his brother Charlie McCarthy and T.J. Deinstadt. Offensively, the Indians were strong at the plate. In the third and fourth innings, Nick Marraffa smacked doubles, with the latter driving in two RBI. In the fifth inning, Nick Andreas drove in one RBI with his sac fly; Bailey Klein knocked in one RBI with a single; and Mark McCarthy smacked a triple. T.J. Deinstadt was solid behind the plate batting two singles. Chris Butler pitched an excellent game for the Angels. Offensively, Chris Butler and Jarrod Costa each batted doubles for the Angels.

On Tuesday, May 20, 2008, the Indians defeated the Braves on Memorial Field by a score of 8 to 1. On the mound for the Indians were Bailey Klein (starter), Matt Rybicki (set-up man) and Jake Runnals (closer). Runnals closed in strong fashion for the Tribe, mowing down the Braves 1-2-3. Runnals is now a full-time member of the Tribe's bullpen. Offensive standouts for the Tribe were Ryan Kelleher, Mark McCarthy and Matt Rybicki. Kelleher smacked an inside-the-park homerun (second of the season) during his first at bat. Mark McCarthy continues to show everyone why he bats clean-up for the Tribe going 3 for 3 at the plate batting three doubles and driving in three RBI. Matt Rybicki went 2 for 3 at the plate batting two doubles knocking in one RBI. Also hitting safely for the Tribe were: Nick Marraffa (single); Bailey Klein (two singles); Charlie McCarthy (double); Nick Andreas (single); and T.J. Deinstadt (single). Tonight's win improves the Tribe's record to 8-1.

The Indians won their third game in a row on Monday afternoon (May 20, 2008) against a very tough Angels team. Mark McCarthy was excellent on the hill for the Indians and was supported by excellent outfield play by his brother Charlie McCarthy and T.J. Deinstadt. Offensively, the Indians were strong at the plate. In the third and fourth innings, Nick Marraffa smacked doubles, with the latter driving in two RBI. In the fifth inning, Nick Andreas drove in one RBI with his sac fly; Bailey Klein knocked in one RBI with a single; and Mark McCarthy smacked a triple. T.J. Deinstadt was solid behind the plate batting two singles. Chris Butler was solid on the mound for the Angels. Offensively, Chris Butler and Jarrod Costa each batted doubles for the Angels.

Nick Rainoff pitched a complete game striking out 11 as the Red Sox defeated the Dodgers 15-3. The Red Sox had a 15 hit attack led by Eric Larsen 3-4 homerun,Trevor Daly 2-2 triple, Mike Rayos 2-2 double, and Scott Marino 2-3 double. Also collecting hits for the Sox were Zach Daly, Matt Dunphy (2), Ryan Buchanan, and Mark Etherington(2). The Dodgers offense was led by Jordan 2-2 with two doubles.

On Sunday, May 18, 2008, the Tribe won their sixth game of the season by beating the National League Giants 4 - 1 on Memorial Field. Nick Andreas and Matt Rybicki were excellent on the mound for the Indians. Andreas opened for the Tribe, giving up only one hit. Rybicki came in to close and got the final four outs of the game.
Nick Marraffa drove in two RBI with his forth-inning triple and Mark McCarthy's fifth-inning triple drove in two. Also hitting for the Tribe were Jake Runnals (2 Singles), Bailey Klein (single), Nick Andreas (1 double and 1 single), and Charlie McCarthy (2 singles).

Orioles Richie Martino(2), Matt Rizzo(2), Jay Calcagno(3), Tommy Higgins(2), Bryan Delgado(2), Dan Rizzo(2), Jason Trefry(1), Frank Soucy(1) and Chris Weimert(1) all hit safely. Mike Desmaris hit safely for the Dodgers.

The Athletics defeated the Giants Saturday afternoon behind a very good pitching performance by Alec Littlefield. Alec went 5 inning allowing 1 run. Offensively for the Athletics, John Thomas hit his first home run, Joe Jones had two hits and Ryan Chase had two hits and Joe Stone doubled. Ryan Cassidy did a great job behind the plate. The Giants got great pitching from Peter Merry who had 10 strike outs. Merry, Brain Daly and Max Mckinnon all had hits for the Giants.

scoring 9 runs as the Sox went on to defeat the Mets 17-2.Tim Loehner went 4-4 scoring 4 runs and Eric Larsen hit his first homerun. Also joining the hit parade were Ryan Buchanan,Nick Rainoff,Mark Etherington,and Trevor Daly. Mark Etherington pitched 5 strong innings and Jason McCannon had a strong 6th inning.Zach Daly had a nice throw from the outfield to erase a runner at the plate. Matt Hogan pitched well for the Mets. Lundergan, Hogan, and Natale hit for the Mets.

In their second game of the the day the Red Sox scored 7 runs in the 5th inning of a tight game to go on to defeat the Reds 19-3. Matt Dunphy highlighted the offense with his first homerun a grandslam. Ryan Buchanan, Nick Rainoff, Tim Loehner, Eric Larsen, Trevor Daly, and call up Lucas Lentine also hit for the Sox. Eric Larsen pitched 5 strong innings for the Sox and Matt Dunphy closed it out. Amore pitched well for the Reds. Ryan Heber led their offense with two homeruns.
