Danvers is runner-up in Gallant Tournament!
Congratulations to the Danvers team that made it all the way to the
Championship game. They ended up with a record of 4-2 and are the
Championship Runner-up in the 27th Annual Gallant tournament in
a field of 8 very tough competitors.
10s WIN!!
The Danvers American 10 year old Jimmy Fund team has won the District
15 championship! The team which won last year's 9 year old championship
repeated their performance by beating Bevery West. They went undefeated
in the 2010 quest. Congratulations to all the coaches and players.
11 Year Olds Are Champions - Win Danvers American
2nd District title in 2010!
The 11 year old team outlasted the hard hitting West Peabody
team by beating them twice in 5 days to capture the District
15 11 year
old division. The team went undefeated on their way to the 2010
title. Great defense, solid pitching and timely scoring was the
key for
the scrappy Danvers American team.
12's make it to the semis
After losing their first game to cross town rival Danvers Nationals,
the Americans won four straight only to be beat by West Peabody
in a nail biter in the semi-finals. They scored 7 runs in the bottom
of the sixth only to fall one run short of keeping the dream alive.
9's make it to semi-finals
The 9 year old team had a great post season run in 2010. After beating
Middleton in the first round, Manager Mike Holland had the team
lined up and poised to strike against West Peabody, but just fell
short in a close contest that saw many lead changes.
12's win Tri-Town Classic
Manager Manny Costa brought back the 12 year old Williamsport players
to the Tri-Town Classic hosted by Hamilton-Wenham and Topsfield.
They went undefeated and finished off the Hamilton-Wenham team
that had beat them during the District 15 tournament.
Congratulations to all the Danvers American teams for a fantastic
run of post season baseball!!
